Making Space for the Creative Self
Friday, October 23 | 1:30–3:30 PM
Blueberry Gardens Healing Center | Ashton, Maryland
Life can get busy. Sometimes we need to set time aside to slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and make space for the parts of us that can get pushed to the side, including our creative selves.
Making Space for the Creative Self is a 2-hour in-person workshop for artists, art therapists, and creatives who want to pause, reflect, create, and connect with others in the creative community.
With the guidance of an art therapist, you’ll be invited into a guided art-making experience with a creative directive, questions for self-reflection, and time to explore what your artwork might have to say about your creative identity.
There will also be time to share and listen, at whatever level feels comfortable. Creating in community can be inspiring. We can learn a lot from one another’s work, experiences, and creative journeys, while noticing what we share as creatives, no matter our backgrounds, identities, or artistic styles.
Maybe you’re creating all the time. Maybe your creative self has been a little dusty and you’re ready to reconnect. Maybe you’re simply curious about where your creativity is right now. Wherever you are, you’re welcome here.
This workshop is open to adults 18+ of all genders, identities, and life stages. No art experience or particular skill level is needed, and sharing is always optional.
The workshop will be held at the beautiful Blueberry Gardens Healing Center in Ashton, Maryland, a peaceful and inspiring setting where the atmosphere itself is part of the experience.
All art materials are provided.
Space is limited to 12 participants to support a small, welcoming, and connected group experience.
3:30–4:00 PM | Open Creative & Connection Time
After the workshop, stay awhile to continue creating, spend more time with your artwork, or connect with others in the group. The space will close at 4:00 PM.
Hosted by Aubrey Rainbow, LCPAT, LCPC, PAT, LPC, ATR-BC
